   Abstract 2-d

Logo Design-Bird

This is a 2-dimension (2d) artwork. It consists of simple forms and distinct colours. The animal is used is actually a peacock.

I came up with 2 designs and each had a monochrome as well as a single colour. There is both asymmetrical and symmetrical type. The symmetrical logo shows three peacocks, one in the middle, two on the right and left. Looking at the picture as a whole, it seems to be a penguin. The asymmetrical logo shows a full-length view of a peacock. Well, the most distinct feature of a peacock is its feathers and the tail end was exaggerated, making it larger than the size of the peacock in the center. As for the colour choices - Magenta was applied on the symmetrical one, as I hope to create a vision of advancing of the right and left peacocks, acting as the foreground and retreating of the peacock in the middle, acting as the background. Cyan was used for the asymmetrical one as to enhance the coolness in which the peacock stands and the coolness of its beautiful feathers, especially its tail ends.

   Silkscreen

Silkscreen Image from chinese characters

This is a 2-dimension (2d) artwork. It consists of the chinese characters 始终 and re-combind into a new character. The image itself looks like a flower. I wanted to give a new meaning to the new word to see the start and end as a same point. Start may be an end. End may be a beginning. I used the silkscreen to print on different media. It includes paper, thin fabric which was made into a fan. I choose to print it on the fan as the fan allow us to feel the wind. Wind comes and go when fanning. It is similar to a start and end. Every end comes a new beginning.
